The summer months have arrived, and that means warm temperatures, beautiful blue water, and low winds for the next couple of months. What should we expect to see on an Anna Maria Island boat tour?
In the summer months, we see all kinds of extraordinary wildlife throughout the crystal-clear water around Egmont Key, Jewfish Key, and the gorgeous sandbars of Passage Key. Right now, I’ve been seeing schools greater than a hundred sharks cruising around the sand bars of Passage Key, all migrating into our bays for the warm summer months. We’ve been seeing a ton of sharpnose and blacktip sharks on these sand bars, and there have been many more species of sharks around Egmont Key due to the massive schools of tarpon around. We’ve been seeing a ton of spotted eagle rays around the clear, beautiful water, and they are such an amazing sight to see. At times, these spotted eagle rays have been in schools of 3-10 and have been cruising just below the surface, and we’ve been getting some awesome footage of these unique creatures. Of course, we’ve been seeing tons of dolphins all over the place, and these curious, intelligent, and playful creatures are always a sight to see and always fun to try and get them to jump in the wake of the boat! Now, I’ve seen dolphins a million times in my life, but I still get excited every time I get one, two, or three to jump in the wake of the boat and put on an awesome show for my amazing clients. Another thing that you should expect to see on my boat tours is the incredible change in the colors of the water while we are cruising around the Bean Point and Passage Key area. This gorgeous scenic boat ride will leave you speechless, and it’s hard to describe how beautiful and clear the water really is this time of the year. You have to see it for yourself! Why are the summer months the best time to book an Anna Maria Island Fishing Charter and sunset excursion?
Well, as you guys know, fishing on Anna Maria has been my passion for quite some time, and there’s not much that I enjoy more than putting some of my guests on fish that they will never forget. I had somebody ask me the other day if this is what I was going to do for the rest of my life, and I quickly answered with, “I sure hope so!” Before I get into ranting about how much I love what I do, let me quickly tell you why right now is the time to book a fishing charter on Anna Maria Island! The waters are the perfect temperature to have the fish feeding just right. There’s a ton of different fish to catch right now. We can start by tarpon fishing in the morning, and depending on how the bite goes, we can continue to tarpon fish or we can switch it up and go have a day with the snook, redfish, seatrout, Spanish mackerel, cobia, and all the other awesome fish that we have been catching right now. The perfect combination right now is an evening fishing trip from 3:30-7:30, then a nice, beautiful sunset cruise along our amazing beaches. There’s nothing like an Anna Maria Island sunset boat cruise after a fun day of fishing, and in the summer months, the winds are usually low, letting us cruise around off the beaches and enjoy a remarkable ending to a day you’ll never forget.
