Arguably AMI’s most prized fish, snook are a delicious meal that you won’t get in any restaurant (it’s not legal to fish them commercially), so you’ve gotta catch your own if you want a taste. This is a thinking angler’s fish, so it helps to have an experienced AMI charter captain on your side. Up until December, we’ll set up shop for snook in areas where the tide is running but they’re still got places to hide and ambush their prey.
Tarpon to Steal the Show
Of course, everyone dreams of getting an amazing picture of the tarpon they just reeled in. Despite reaching sizes of up to 150 pounds—nearly as big as me!—tarpon can be found in our inshore waters in and around Anna Maria Island.
