There are many different activities you can enjoy when you visit this gem of a place. I want to share some awesome things you can do while you’re down here, explain why my outfit at AMI Excursions is the one-stop shop for all water activities, and share what we will be catching on my future fishing charters around Anna Maria Island.
Exploring Robinson Preserve: A Tranquil Nature Escape and Scenic Viewpoint
One of my favorite activities—something many people miss when they visit—is to go to Robinson Preserve and enjoy a scenic nature walk around the beautiful estuary. Robinson Preserve is a large saltwater sanctuary located just across the Manatee Bridge from the island. It is a highly protected area that plays a vital role in supporting marine life in our region, as motorboats are not allowed inside, giving fish, birds, and other species a peaceful and quiet environment to flourish, hide, and nurture before venturing into the “big pond.” The walk is very peaceful, and you can observe numerous bird species, watch mullet jump out of the water, and, my favorite part, see the entire bay from the stunning tower situated along one of the trails. The tower, standing 40 feet tall, provides an incredible view of Anna Maria Sound. You can also enjoy a beautiful view of the Skyway Bridge, Manatee River, and even parts of Terra Ceia Bay. Robinson Preserve encompasses 600 acres of marsh and water, connecting to Palma Sola Bay through an area called Perico Bay. I fish quite a bit around these waters, and it’s amazing to experience a different perspective than what you get on my fishing charters in Anna Maria Island. I grew up fishing around Robinson Preserve, biking through it, and simply wandering the picturesque estuary. It’s definitely worth spending a lovely sunset walking and soaking in the stunning views.
Discover All That AMI Excursions Offers Beyond Fishing
We offer much more at AMI Excursions than just fishing, even though that’s what we are known for and how we’ve connected with many families from all over the country. I wanted to let you know that I also do dolphin tours, boat cruises, sandbar excursions, snorkeling trips, and just about anything else you’d like to experience on the water. I can make it happen! We offer one of the most unique Anna Maria Island Boat Tours around, and the thing that sets us apart from most other tours is that you’ll be on the water with a seasoned local who grew up doing exactly what I will be taking you to do! I’ve spent many, many days on these waters and know exactly where to take your family so you can get the most out of your boating adventure. I will also be the captain on every single tour you book—whether it’s fishing, dolphin watching, or anything else we do! I’ve been on many tours in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Nicaragua, and I can say that the best tours I’ve experienced are always run by owner/operator businesses, where the owner isn’t focused solely on profit but on creating the best experience for their customers. That’s exactly what I aim to do with my outfit, and I can’t wait to help you build unforgettable memories! Additionally, I can assist in connecting you with the best people for golf cart rentals, boat rentals, top restaurants, and any other questions you might have. I know all the local owner/operator businesses that take pride in their work and will ensure you feel welcomed during your beautiful stay.
Exciting Upcoming Surfcasting Adventures on Anna Maria Island
I want to tell you guys about some of the exciting fish we’ll be targeting over the next couple of months. I’ll probably go into more detail about how we catch them, where we target them, and how they fight, but I’ll give you a little sneak peek! Cobia, kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, and lots of big Bonita will be showing up soon on our beaches, and it’s going to be chaos! Some of the most action-packed fishing of the year happens in the fall, and I can’t wait to hear that fishing reel scream! So if you’re looking to experience a fishing charter Anna Maria Island style, look no further!
