Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters: April’s Consistent Weather and Hot Fishing Action
The month of April is one of my favorite months of the year to fish for many reasons, and in this report, we will tell you what we will be catching, what the weather is like, and what’s to come fishing-wise at the end of April and early May. I love April for the consistently beautiful weather and water temperatures. Usually, most of the cold fronts have happened, and April is a very smooth month weather-wise. The Water temperatures are a perfect 75-80 degrees, which is perfect for a lot of action and consistency on my Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters. We are catching a lot of snook, redfish, and seatrout on the inshore scene and a lot of kingfish, cobia, and other awesome fish on the offshore scene. We are also seeing some tarpon showing up, which we will be fishing very hard for starting at the end of the month.
Anna Maria Island Inshore Fishing Report
Inshore fishing has been very consistent, with tons of snook, redfish, and trout around. The fishing has been very similar to how it was in March, with more consistent weather, and the fish have settled into where they want to hang out the next month or so before their summer transition. We had a nasty cold front early in the month, but the fishing stayed very consistent throughout the windy days, and we are back to the normal awesome weather and fishing. We have had many charters this month where we haven’t had to move spots at all, and we have been able to catch snook, trout, and redfish in the same areas, doing little searching for the fish as they are tight in certain areas. The big schools of redfish that we were fishing hard in March are all back in the same areas, and we have had some great charters catching a ton of big redfish. The trout fishing has been as good as it gets for keeper fish, and they are very plentiful, making excellent table fare for my guests. Anna Maria Island Offshore Fishing Report
The offshore scene has revolved around kingfish, cobia, and sharks so far this April. The kingfish bite has been as good as it gets this year, tons of fish around, and a very consistent bite in the deeper water. The cobia bite should continue to improve and remain hot throughout early May. Lots of other really fun fish should show up more and more throughout April and into May. If you are looking to go offshore fishing, our 6- or 8-hour option is perfect for you. Our offshore trips are more for hardcore fishermen who don’t get seasick, as it does get rough offshore. My favorite fishing to do is some inshore shallow water sport fishing, which is the perfect fishing for families, older folks, and anybody looking to enjoy the beautiful nature that Anna Maria Island has to offer.
What’s to come at the end of April and early May?
Some of the most exciting fishing is ahead of us, as the tarpon are starting to show up around the bridges and passes. Tarpon fishing is some of the most exciting fishing in the world, and lucky for you, Anna Maria Island has an awesome fishery for them. Lucky for you, the end of April, May, and June are the perfect times to experience the thrill of tarpon fishing. Tarpon are giant sport fish known for their incredible acrobatic jumps and extreme fighting power. I still have a few tarpon fishing dates available, so please act fast if tarpon fishing is something that you would like to experience. There is nothing more enjoyable than getting out to the spot as the sun rises and watching these awesome fish rolling and feasting on baits.
